The part in italics above "ignoring historical evidence to justify _____" is basically the underlying reason that 99% of obvious mistakes are made. Teams either don't care to learn from the past (anti-data), think they're smarter than everyone who has come before them, or both
@benbbaldwin The Ravens do 5 out of 6 of these and are the 2nd best franchise the last 20 years. Like EDC just went on a podcast talking about how they almost always go BPA.

@benbbaldwin Do you buy into any of the "bowers is different" talk specifically? Certainly a different profile than most of those underwhelming first round TEs that have preceeded him. Not sure if it makes a difference.
