This was entirely predictable and predicted. I’m hearing lots of stories like this. It’s crazy to stick this massive complexity on small businesses that are already being eviscerated by the bad faith Canada post strike. Civil servants need to do better for us.

Is @Starlink the right solution here? Absolutely it is. But leave it to government to spend $100M on something that has a publicly available sticker price of $7.5M 🤦🏻‍♂️ Setting up Starlink is literally idiot proof. The ~$93M spread here is insane. Just create tax rebate. Done.

I find the media’s takes on SpaceX’s achievement utterly outrageous. It’s straight out of Ayn Rand novels. What is the game here? Usually incentives explain these things but there isn’t even a follow the money type motive that I can detect? It’s just tribalism? nihilism?

If the new Omicron variant tells us anything, it is that we are all in this together. Failure to vaccinate populations anywhere leads to risk everywhere, no matter our reactive travel restrictions that feel more performative than effective. We simply must vaccinate the world.
