We were delighted to welcome @Edinburgh_CC leader Jane Meagher to visit #BigNoiseWesterHailes yesterday, where she saw first-hand how the programme is supporting over 500 children each week to grow in confidence and vital life skills through music 🎶 We were also treated to a special performance from #BigNoiseRaploch alumni - what brilliant role models to have for our youngest members 🎻 🗣️ “We are committed to tacking poverty in our city and community-based projects such as Big Noise are doing brilliant work in the Wester Hailes community and beyond to transform lives through music. It is important that we encourage creativity and offer broader access to music education to learners of all ages, and I’m pleased to see Big Noise supporting our wider efforts across Edinburgh to make music accessible and inclusive for all.” - Councillor Jane Meagher We are so grateful to @Edinburgh_CC, our local partner schools @Clovenstone, @SighthillS, and @CanalViewPSEdin, and of course the community of Wester Hailes for their ongoing support since launching #BigNoise in Edinburgh 3 years ago 🙌

Sistema Scotland is deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Christina McKelvie. Our thoughts are with her family, friends, and colleagues. As Minister for Culture, she championed our young musicians through her dedicated support of our Big Noise programme, for which we are so grateful.

Did you know that 76% of our staff team, including our CEO, are women? In honour of International Women’s Day tomorrow we want to recognise the wonderful women inspiring the next generation every day at our #BigNoise programmes across Scotland, especially in the classical music field, which has historically been male-dominated, we’re proud to have so many role models for our young musicians 🎶 #IWD2025 #InternationalWomensDay #March8
