This chart shows how minimal the gains that come from adding another 10 months to the project timeline are. This is a slam dunk against moving forward with the new station alternatives, in my opinion.
Potentially $500 million more (year of expenditure $) for 10 months of delay on the delivery of the entire WSBLE project, but no similar ST Board excitement to commit to a barely decent (by international standards) regional transit and interstate rail hub at 4th Avenue in CID?
The presentation to the Sound Transit board on the potential SLU station changes later today is online. It importantly notes that adding a new alternative at this stage, largely for the purposes of avoiding traffic lane closures, would add another ~10 months to the project.

Transportation and housing advocates are rallying at Jimi Hendrix Park this afternoon, pushing to substantially beef up both the Transportation Levy Proposal and the One Seattle Plan to meet the city's pressing needs.
I'm really disappointed. Seattle can't waste any more time failing to provide affordable housing. We were elected to take action. This is not a controversial bill. Cutting red tape to let organizations like Habitat for Humanity build more homes is not controversial.
The committee just failed to approve the bill, with Moore, Rivera, and Woo opposed, and Dan Strauss abstaining. CM Morales, who sponsored the bill, voted in favor. It still goes to the full council on April 30 without a do pass recommendation where it will likely fail.
