@LloydLegalist So true.

 I remember so many… When I was told I needed to deliver a death notification, I felt it immediately. My chest tightened, my stomach sank, and I knew I was about to say words that would tear a family apart. Before you can deliver a death notification, you have to make sure you are at the right place, speaking to the right person. So I would knock on the door, take a step back, and wait. Many times, I could see them before they saw me. A family inside the house. Someone walking through the living room. Someone sitting on the couch. Someone coming to the door during what had been a normal day, with no idea their life was about to be divided into before and after. When the door opened, I would usually start by asking, “Is this the address of…” Then I would ask, “Are you…” or “I am looking for…” That part mattered because you cannot be wrong with that kind of news. Not once. Not ever. Once they confirmed I was at the right place, the questions usually came fast. “What’s going on?” “What happened?” “Is someone hurt?” Then, many times, the question became shorter and more painful. “Who?” You could hear their words increase as they tried to figure out why I was standing on their front porch. Deep down, I think many of them already knew. They were not really waiting for me to tell them what happened. They were waiting for me to tell them who had been killed. Who was not coming home. Then I would say the words no family should ever have to hear. “It is my sad responsibility to tell you that your son has died in a crash.” “It is my sad responsibility to tell you that your daughter has died in a crash.” “It is my sad responsibility to tell you that your mother has died in a crash.” “It is my sad responsibility to tell you that your father has died in a crash.” There is no gentle way to say it. There is no perfect sentence. There is no way to soften words that will break someone. After those words, I usually saw one of three things. Some collapsed to the floor and cried from a place so deep you never forget the sound. I would kneel beside them, and many times, I cried with them. Some went silent. They stood frozen, staring at me, trying to understand what their mind did not want to accept. Their world had stopped, even though everything around them kept moving. Some pushed me away. They yelled. They told me to leave. They said, “No. Do not say that.” They were not angry at me. They were trying to push away the truth because letting it in would destroy them. Today is the 4th of July. There will be fireworks, cookouts, music, laughter, family, friends, and people celebrating across this country. I hope you enjoy every bit of it. I hope you laugh, eat too much, watch the sky light up, and make memories with the people you love. But please, do not let a bad decision turn someone’s 4th of July into the night an officer knocks on their door. Do not make someone’s family stand in a doorway asking, “Who?” Do not make someone’s mother fall to the floor. Do not make someone’s father stare at a wall because he cannot process the words. Do not make someone’s children wait for a parent who will never pull into the driveway again. Do not drink and drive… Your family wants you home. Someone else’s family wants their loved one home too. Be safe, Trooper Ben #HelpMore

@BigWeekendShow @Johnny_Joey @TomiLahren @kevincorke @mkhammer Thank you guys and thank Richard Childress for showing what makes North Carolina a wonderful place.

The Azalea Festival is guaranteed to be sunny and dry with a nice warming trend. Only slim rain chances return by the middle of next week. Irrigation will be needed and be extremely careful with any flames. #WECTwx #ILMwx

Retired Marine Joey Jones says the downed U.S. pilot likely has full confidence in rescue efforts, citing the military’s training, coordination, and strong record in recovering personnel. “They're thinking that they're going to be rescued…”

🔥 NEW: Fox News’ @Johnny_Joey speaks out directly to President Trump and Pete Hegseth on troops potentially going into Iran: “I’m personally very torn on this. I sat besides Pete Hegseth for years on the couch on Fox & Friends. I had a lot of conversations with him before he was confirmed as Secretary of War. I know what’s in his heart and in his experience.” “I’ve also watched President Trump for more than a decade who’s said ‘no new wars’, ‘no forever wars’ and backed that up. The track record is there. I don’t think he’s changed, I don’t think he’s owned Netanyahu. I do think there are complexities.” “I am going to say this: President Trump, Pete Hegseth, General Caine and the rest of the generals: if you send our men and women into that country to ki|| our bad guys, to spill their blood because they deserve it, I’m going to have to agree with you on it.” “Just please do this: Don’t nation build. Don’t win hearts and minds. Don’t spread democracy. Spill the blood without our hands tied and without a PR campaign and get the hell out of there. That’s all we have tolerance for. That’s all that will work.” “We won every battle in Iraq and Afghanistan - but we lost the war because our politicians don’t have a spine. Don’t be those people.”

Due to increased wildfire risk, the N.C. Forest Service has issued a ban on all open burning and has canceled all burning permits statewide effective 6 p.m. Saturday, March 28 until further notice. Read news release: bit.ly/4dlzcXv

A bad combination for southeast NC on Saturday afternoon. A bone dry airmass combines with gusty north-northeast winds to produce an elevated fire danger as drought condition persist. No burning please. #WECTwx #ILMwx

At a the GLI liberty dinner honoring Larry Arnn (president of Hillsdale college) listening to the BEST Gov in the USA @GovRonDeSantis . If he doesn’t run for President he needs to move to Texas and run for Governor. What he has done for Florida is nothing short of Amazing! I would take him Happily in either role.
