I almost considered moving two media sites that publish daily from Vercel to Cloudflare to save on monthly fees But researching Cloudflare in the context of cloud overages I realized it's not worth the hassle Cloudflare doesn't have a hard spend limit for runaway cloud overage bills Building spend controls costs founder time and runaway bill risk costs peace... Vercel is expensive but automatic spend pause buys peace of mind @Cloudflare why no account-wide hard spend cap?

there is such a crazy disconnect between how people in tech vs the general public view ai right now. if you follow this stuff, you're used to something happening every 2 weeks that forces you to update your worldview. but that's not a typical thing people have to do irl, so you end up talking to people whose mental model of ai is basically from gpt-4o days. like we're just talking past one another - i'm still hearing "ai will never code as well as humans", ai safety concerns compared to 2012 world ending paranoia, concerns about out about the water used by minutes-long agent runs, etc. etc. people also don't understand how intelligent models are. i tried bringing up the millennium prize problems and was basically told that math is easy for ai to solve/doesn't require creativity so it doesn't count as real intelligence. but if you ask someone what they'd consider "real intelligence", models probably crossed it years ago but they just didn't know about it (or moved their goalposts once it was achieved). anyways we need way better public ops for ai. like maybe get more people (like dwarkesh) with rizz who can actually explain what's going on with ai without being too hype or doomer

What i like about Astra is it seems to just get shit done without talking about it much, or posturing. It very quietly accomplishes a massive amount. A new level of good at orchestrating subagents!

@ai_explorer25 I'm building agents around a tax practice and immigration firm I founded and GPT-6 Astra can now use the GUI of outdated apps like Encyro. Game-changer and correct, many apps are now just used for CRUD by an agent.

I use Kit.com for email marketing as it's free and the API is decent, sequences are paid - I tried Resend as well but Kit.com felt more robust and the API has been working for my agent but I don't run sequences right now. For Instagram I use Buffer.com

GPT-6 Astra has me rethinking my tax practice. If AI can handle increasingly complex returns, can I take on bigger problems? For AI-backed practitioners, where does a 'meat-proxy' wrapper end and a consultant begin? Judgment? Accountability? What should we call ourselves?
