I wonder if AI means we will at least have custom software. And if hardware makers will build devices that are easier to customize the software. Ex. Washing machines where you can program the cycle or microwaves where you can program the hot keys or power levels.

A few times I've gotten a notice months later that something was wrong and I owed more money (was not a scam). Why do I need to bother filing if they already know this? Also, did you know tax filing companies (HR Block, TurboTax etc) lobby to keep the tax code complicated?

This is more important than apparent. Not for the politeness. Not for the positive reinforcement. For the idea that taxes should be seen as a necessary evil to minimise, not as a free pot of money to maximize. They should say “sorry”, actually. “Sorry we had to take so much”
