I tried to renew my renter's insurance online. A dozen sites later: broken form fields, broken aggregators, failed submissions, required phone calls. They all felt like scams. ChatGPT suggested @Lemonade_Inc and it was painless. Delightful, even. Everyone else: Do as they do!

Last night I completed Monster's Expedition 100% in one go in about 6 hours, which was my third round (1st 172h, 2nd 27h). My study of others' solutions so far shows that I've unlocked at least 6 snowmen in unexpected ways. Here are two more: youtube.com/watch?v=9VVfPY…

Unlocking the snowman above the "Hedgehog" Effigy was the crown jewel of difficulty for me in Monster's Expedition. I've now learned that there is a very simple solution! My solution is... not. I hope you like ping-pong. youtube.com/watch?v=Egtpa9…

Why does @discord use websockets only for receiving events? e.g. a bot can receive a message from a channel on a websocket but must send one via HTTP POST. They are both real-time events, no? Even if not, isn't that strictly less efficient? Architecturally, it seems very weird.

As a frontend engineer, I appreciate the new @twitter in two ways: 1. New tweets prepend upward yet do not shift the viewport. 2. Only 10 tweets in the DOM at once, no matter how many pages loaded. Total # elements stays below 2K. Expert viewport juggling. Very snappy! 👏

My MacBook was overheating for years. I only noticed when visiting the office (away from my iMac). Too many external monitors? External drive? Bad sandbox setup? Nope: It was SUPER DIRTY inside. Caked fans. Opened, air-canned: Zero problems now. Wow. Don't forget about meatspace!
