It is shocking how often startups fail because of the personality flaws and deep seated childhood traumas of their founders and execs. Get therapy. Get exec coaching. Do inner work. It will save you if you let it. You’ll solve problems now and prevent problems in the future.

One business model I’m increasingly interested in: assuming risk for outcomes. We’ve been selling software and asking customers to trust that the increased productivity gains are worth the price. If you’re sure, you should assume the risk and get paid for it.

Uber and Airbnb are marketplaces that figured out how utilize an idle asset. Airbnb turns spare bedroom into extra cash, Uber turns your car into extra income. However, the most valuable asset in the world that’s underutilized isn’t cars or bedrooms--it’s people.

Totally agree with the issues raised here. Interesting to see reality creep in to the autonomous discussion over past few months. If there is no “level 5,” there is no disruptive impact on ride-sharing, as you don’t remove the driver.
