@linmeitalks This might make sense to you when you’re young, but when you’re old and retired and are still using the NHS and are no longer contributing to it you’ll be grateful for it being free at the point of use - assuming it still is.

@Guesty22 I have premium lite - it’s £7.99 a month worth it for me. I don’t need the music. If you’re a monzo customer might want to look at their Perks plan, I think it’s £8.99 but includes YouTube premium lite.

@KirstieMAllsopp I’m in Bromley, house is worth around £650K council tax F - cost is £3091 PA - new 0.48% would be £3,120 But if it meant I wouldn’t pay the £22.5K stamp duty I did 4 years ago I’d be very happy. Now annoyed as it’s not clear what happens to people like me who recently paid SD.

@NotFarLeftAtAll I think you’re find that this is exactly the reason they want to bring property taxes in. Your parents can’t easily swallow the stamp duty fee on an onwards purchase, so they’re probably holding onto a property that’s too big for them - reducing the stock for growing families.

@hewantswealth There are different allowances for cash ISAs and S&S ISAs, people have been circumventing these changes by storing cash in a S&S ISA. These new rules are to penalise people who are abusing circumventing the limits. If you use S&S ISA properly there is no tax.

@another07047584 @GoodwinMJ Technically the tax rate is 40% between 100K and 125K - however you also loose you personal tax free allowance on a sliding scale from 100-125K which is why the effective tax rate jumps to 60% during that range. Still don’t like it.
