I am a Hungarian who lived in the U.S. for ~15 years. Never understood the deeply-rooted American exceptionalism, arrogance and pomp permeating all spheres of life. It feels fake, insecure, annoying and counterproductive. Exceptional leadership requires exceptional humility.

IMO the most important COVID statistic to compare countries is deaths/1MM people - UK, Spain, Italy lead the charge, Germany the clear outlier among those countries, Mexico and Brazil likely to rise higher as earlier in the curve (stats as of end of July)
