@EmlynBreese one thing ive noticed (and not necessarily pointing at Melbourne) is any supporter group who bragged about how young their list was 5-10 years ago - is still bragging about how young their list is now. it means nothing to me.

@Cpcc15 People forget that age is a compo factor too. But wouldn't surprise me one bit if the AFL conveniently forget this for GWS.... Daniel Wells was roughly the same age as Greene and Merrett and probably on the equivalent cash with reference to the salary cap at the time.

@stone1_matthew Agreed! They can trade up or trade for the player after one year and pay way overs for them. Club who called out their name are generously compensated, not just pushed down one more spot having to take the next best kid.
