Having used AI for about a year now, I can confidently say, it is nowhere near replacing software developers. The code it puts out leaves a lot to be desired, and you have to know exactly what to ask and how to ask it to get something that 30% works. At that point, hire dev

Here's my favourite method for getting Go/Zig/Rust-like errors in TS. It's by returning custom errors from functions. - Shows right in the return type - Easy checking with instanceof - No deps required

FWIW: EventTarget (which is on the browser and node) does NOT suffer from this issue. You can't try/catch the `dispatch`, and all handlers are still executed, with the error being thrown in its own call stack. You can handle it with `process.on('error')` or `window.onerror` if…

Today I learned that node's EventEmitter suffers from an issue called "producer interference". That's where an error thrown by a synchronous consumer (whomever called `on`) prevents the producer (the `EventEmitter`) from notifying subsequent other consumers. This is something…
