#EJAFellowUpdate In the last two weeks, I have learned a lot about how our justice system works. I went to housing court in Queens to observe how housing court officers provide language assistance services to non-english speakers.

I am a month into my internship with the Special Litigation Unit, which works with NYLAG attorneys across practice areas to identify and address institutional failures. I have worked on active cases, as well as research for future potential cases.

I also have been helping to manage the caseload for the Student Borrower Advocacy Project, which provides free legal advice for student borrowers with federal loans. I have had an incredible first month, and I am looking forward to the rest of the summer!
