Office of The Mayor - Gulu City @mayorgulucity

During his tour of Northern Uganda, the Governor @dgrotaryd9213 paid a courtesy visit to His Worship @PaLabeja, where they discussed several issues concerning the city, including preparations for the @rotaryd9213 Conference scheduled to take place next year. The Mayor highlighted the opportunities the conference will bring to Gulu City, with participants expected from across Uganda and neighbouring countries. The event is expected to boost the city’s business, accommodation, hospitality and entertainment sectors while showcasing Gulu as a destination for investment and tourism. One of the key activities during the Governor’s tour was the Safe Roads Campaign, which included sensitization of Boda Boda riders, taxi drivers and other road users at the Gulu City Taxi/Bus Park. The campaign emphasized that roads are public goods shared by pedestrians, cyclists, riders and motorists, and that respecting all road users is essential for safer roads. Drivers and riders were urged to avoid operating vehicles and motorcycles with mechanical faults, while the importance of experience, discipline and proper road-use practices was emphasized. The campaign also called for stronger enforcement of traffic rules and an end to practices such as bribery that undermine road safety. The Governor’s road safety activities also included the painting of zebra crossings across Gulu City to improve pedestrian safety and promote responsible use of our roads.

@BalaamBarugahar Read Education Act 2008, Sec 6(2)(f); Reg. 23(b); Reg. 10(c) and you'll realise that parents willingly contribute towards children's welfare as govt funds are meagre. And why embarrass DEO? Guy is in charge of Primary Schls, Secondary schls are for Central Govt.

What if Government puts some ka-money aside to encourage farmers plant trees beside the monoculture practice of annual crops? Check out Kijani Forestry's take on Agroforestry and incentivizing tree farming. erp.kijaniforestry.com/files/Kijani%2…

Shame on those making fun of this couragous girl. She has determination and we can only support her to go to her dream Secondary School, Y.Y. Okot Memorial College. Can the OGs of YY Okot Memorial School make her dream come true?
