@cricketingview Although i do think last year Kohli did try to go from ball one in few t20s and couldnt get going and reverted to his old way of accumulating to get back to form.

@cricketingview I think you were just ahead in calling out Kohlis t20 failures and copped lot from his fans. Now this IPL i see lot more talk about SR and intent from others and pretty much everyone calling out Kohlis failure in t20s.

@cricketingview @clicknitin83 not relevant to this tweet thread on Ganguly but even Cricinfo uses Smartstats which includes context of the game. I remember reading an article on cricinfo on this too but cant find it now espncricinfo.com/story/introduc…

@cricketingview @ESPNcricinfo India where fans are notorious pelt stones, burn effigies. things got better last decade but online mob has been relentless. to say cricketers face no pressure and loss is purely on that days performance might be stats thing but worth talking to sports psychologists.

@cricketingview @ESPNcricinfo I was saying in my earlier tweets pressure on Indian players is higher. but thats ok, neither of us have to convince each other.

@cricketingview @ESPNcricinfo I am not saying it. cricshots.com/zaheer-khan-re… Zaheer himself “Being in control of the emotions because the final can be overwhelming. Finals can get those emotions out: about what can happen if we win the finals. And what can happen if we lose? They are very strong emotions,”

@cricketingview @ESPNcricinfo how else do u explain Zaheer Khans first over in 2003 WC? In fact Zaheer himself said he couldnt control his emotions and it got better off him in 2003 and learnt to be better in 2011. Cricket is played by humans. not robots KD.

@cricketingview @ESPNcricinfo you keep going back to audience watching tv argument. it makes no sense. i am talking about players psych when playing big games. this is not some pseudo science i am making up. Sports psychology as field exists. players mental conditioning coaches exists.

@cricketingview @ESPNcricinfo and it doesnt help that india went into every match in these knockouts being the favorites barring 2022 vs Eng. the pressure on favorites is higher to not lose. anyways, as i said, something for a sports psychologist to comment on. not my area and neither is stats.

@cricketingview @ESPNcricinfo yeah my point was pressure on Indian players is much higher as the backlash to a loss is much more severe. New Zealand loses and guess what they go back to being anon in their country. and in india, the online trolling and ex-cricketers barbs are vicious. heads roll.

@cricketingview @ESPNcricinfo I am just not able to wrap my brain around the fact that performance under pressure as some sort of immeasurable metric exists pretty much in every field but not in cricket. dont you think it plays on a sportsperson mind what if I fail today? Pressure effects everyone

@cricketingview In any other sport, players out of form are immediately subbed or benched. Sometimes while the game is going on. should cricket adopt same? should a player be given extended run to regain form at the cost of losing a match/series.

@St_Hill my goodness, I salute you. explaining rules of boardgame is the toughest job. and equally tough is not zoning out while listening to friends explaining the rules.

@tanayj how were they able to do it. i mean practically Stripe was the darling of SV. Everyone knew it but Ayden was hardly a known name except may be in tech circles.

@nameshiv Ok, not a bhakt of any kind. but if u have the greatest QB with a very poor O-Line and even mediocre receivers, would it or would it not affect passer rating? not understanding the analogy here. pretty much with any team sport you need some support to the stars right?

@dan_abramov Is Twitter struggling because it was badly engineered? That 70% engineers left and it is still standing is testament to how well it was built. so what is 20 something engineer going to go there and build? For next few months it is going to be holding the fort style work.

@cricketingview Also this doesnt say what was the avg score when Kohli walked in? Did he derail the momentum? Or did he have to build the innings? not a Kohli stan, just trying to make sense of the numbers. is it even possible to add that dimension. Cricinfo has impact rating right? can u use it

@cricketingview Could it be thats the role assigned to him by team management? He definitely could play like Jos or Alex Hales. Are the numbers any different in IPL? And Rizwan and Babar are right there who were ranked top in t20 rankings as well right? trying to understand the point here
