@apt @robably__ If the goal is for the white border to maintain uniform thickness through the turn, image "B" to me doesn’t look "correct" as it thickens through the turn. I do like formulas as much as the next person, but ultimately trust perception with things like this more.
@robably__ I "eyeball" it. One advice I’d offer is don’t stress if you make the outer radius a bit too large: We encounter examples of bent pipes in real life all the time and physical materials like metal appear thinner through the turn though uniform thickness is usually the goal.

@disco_lu With a more narrow range (e.g. 5-7 tokens) the differences are minimal, like you illustrated. On wider ranges (e.g. 10-15 tokens like Polaris) biggest token would be 1597px with a fibonacci sequence (too big!) and merely 56px with purely linear progression (probably too small).
@disco_lu Spacing tokens from popular design systems I know of are kind of a hybrid between the two approaches. Take Polaris (Shopify) for example. Up to 24px, the increment is 4px; 32–48px it’s 8px; and above 64px it’s 16px increments. The multiplier isn’t constant through the full scale.

@hobdaydesign Nice! I’d suggest an addition: When nesting containers with rounded corners, the rounding radius of the outer should always be larger than that of the inner to a degree that implied border resulting from nesting maintains thickness through the curve or gets slightly thinner. :)
