Even though the US population is center-left, because left-wing voters are centralized in a few urban states, conservative, less populated states wield an immense amount of power.

For example, I engage with artists all over NYC who are creating socially conscious work, but who are simultaneously contributing to class-based oppression. If your work isn't recognizing it's own material privilege then it's a problem.
