There’s a playground out my window. Kids just swing and swing endlessly. On my worst days, I admit a Larkinesque envy that childhood continues for someone else. But usually it’s a nice reminder that joy can come so simply.

A lot of subjects in these famous Dust Bowl photos weren’t identified until recently. Their kids were too ashamed that they once lived like that. But now we’d boast if we were reduced to scraps.

Many dates w/ a woman w/ a disability just ended. One reason was her professorship and art was solely based on her disability. She otherwise did craft w/ an artist’s statement. I hate activist art, but I couldn’t ever tell her that all she worked for was just fetishized by DEI.
