Elasticsearch's upgrade to Lucene 9 reduced disk usage of the index of the `message` field (StardardAnalyzer, indexOptions=DOCS) by almost 15% (and overall ~3.5%) on the applications logs dataset we use for nightly benchmarks thanks to the move from FOR to PFOR for postings.

After an incredible six years, today is my last day at @elastic . It has been an amazing experience and I have been fortunate enough to work with many exceptionally smart and talented people from which I have learnt a great deal, and fostered great friendships :) Onwards!
