@markemerritt @CultivatedNews FYI, my 30 years of M&A experience tells me that, if no friendly deal gets done within the 105 days, everyone friendly will walk and ACB price will crater. ACB is arrogant enough to believe they can go it alone. That is very unlikely. The saga continues….. IMHO

@jfberke I wouldn’t expect that, both he and OGI are way too smart to get in a bidding war. They already torched $. But I don’t believe CURA will ever get it. So, at some point, after the dust settles, it doesn’t mean they are not interested, at the appropriate price, of course. M&A 101.

@canna_smith @markemerritt @CultivatedNews My MJ investment thesis: US is FUBAR for 12-18 months. Canadian MJ is alpha. Specifically, core positions are OGI, VFF and CRON. I own ACB, but prefer it goes to OGI or CRON, NOT CURA for competitive reasons. I also use options on core positions to manage/enhance returns.

@markemerritt @mgorenst One final thought. I wonder if Mike just tipped his hand with respect to CRON buying ACB. Why would he buy it if he believes it’s easier and cheaper to convert an existing facility? CURA wants ACB exactly because it enhances his EU GMP supply chain. Green washing is done.

@markemerritt @CultivatedNews OGI has been trying to convert a portion of their Moncton facility to EU GMP since mid 2024. They repeatedly promised every quarter since 2025 it would happen soon. Still not done. Data verification must demonstrate consistent quality of product over time. Thus, they need ACB.

It is cheaper and more time efficient to buy an existing EU GMP certified facility because someone has already done the hard work. It’s not just the facility, it’s the data verification aspect.
