@TheDMLair Honestly would prefer an entirely new 6E over more on the 5E pile…

@WilliamsRacing @GulfOilIntl Slap the colors of Bold but use the pattern of Heritage.

@TheDMLair Some early ones are known to be a bit overtuned.

@TheDMLair As others have noted, how hard to push is really up to the players. If they are completely tapped out of resources, fights can get ugly. As a DM you can safely throw spaced out moderate encounters, but i would only plan one severe in a day. Was this a specific AP by chance?

@DanTalksGames @CeriRowland @McFluff16 I dunno. My players have been doing just fine with killing things with magic

@DnDBeyond Amazing! And Unexpected! Please, make OGL 1.0(a) irrevocable, to protect the non 5e creators. That puts almost the entire issue to rest.

@Wizards_DnD Still no simple stance that OGL 1.0a will not be revoke, huh?

@Wizards_DnD @DnDBeyond That "winning" phrase is a bit telling. There were infinite ways to go about changing the OGL, including doing NOTHING, and you (WotC) chose violence (figuratively). At this point the onus is on YOU to convince us to come back.

@2K Whichever hero can defeat the 2K Launcher and Denuvo... This is the first Firaxis game in decades I am skipping.

@RosstinMurphy @hexcrawl I saw another game (WWN) that uses a chock damage mechanic. If you roll to hit past a certain AC there is a minimum damage component.

@Nat1Fun Not a huge fan of it but.... it is hard to say much without a lot more playtest material. Will monster do a bit more damage overall now? Wouldn't mind that. 5e PCs are really hard to keep down already (looking at you death mechanics).

For no particular reason, I decided to read D&D 4e for the first time. I'll be posting my reactions as I do so. Here are the first few chapters of the PHB: grimmash.github.io/ttrp/2022/08/2… #dnd #dnd4e #ttrpg

@DyingStylishly There some cool games that do this, Microscope comes to mind, Long Year, etc. Both approaches have their fans and uses!

@TalesByMax If the whole table agrees, fine, but then there is also the consideration that if CHA is player based, you may really be doing more of a group improv for that facet of the game as opposed to playing the game itself.

@TalesByMax Part of roleplay mechanics is also giving mechanics so that player skill != Character skill. Some players want to play charismatic characters but aren't. To the extreme, would you only allow STR based activities you the player could do in game? Or magic spells?
