The design of the current unreal editor isn’t well-optimized for multi-agent workflows. The agents constantly step on each others toes. I have one working on animations, another on map building, etc. I had to buy $1000 of RAM and make multiple repos so each agent could run their own editor instances.
That said, I have zero prior game dev experience and I’m almost finished making a complete TPS that would have required a team of 100 previously. Unreal could seriously accelerate things. The biggest challenges are dev workflows and map creation. The map creation thing will probably require one more model generation beyond Astra.
The games we've long wanted, which didn't exist because they'd cost several times more to make than they'd earn back, will soon become possible. As will the games developers wanted to build, but couldn't with the resources available. It'll be a new golden age of gaming.
In case you were wondering, the Elizabeth Holmes documentary “You Can See Everything” is currently tied with the Shawshank Redemption for the best movie of all time on IMDB. Anyway, have a good weekend.
Tech, AI, and crypto falling hard alongside yields.
Looks like a flight to safety. Folks getting nervous about what high borrowing costs mean for a debt-funded AI boom?

On September 22, Araghchi met with Witkoff and Qatari mediators to give Trump an opening to return to the Islamabad MOU including lifting the naval blockade and releasing frozen assets. The IRGC appears to have supported this negotiating attempt. By September 24, Hormuz flows recovered to a seven-day average of 16.2 million barrels a day, approaching prewar levels.
However, Iran’s own exports remained blocked while other producers were recovering their sales. Trump rejected the proposal on September 26 and tanker attacks escalated to their highest frequency, and with greater violence than previous attacks, within 48 hours.
During the same period, the Houthis were attacking Saudi airports and oil infrastructure, including Yanbu, where Saudi Arabia exports oil that bypasses Hormuz. They were also assuring the US and Europe that their ships could pass. Pressure on Saudi Arabia continued while Iran negotiated with Washington. Saudi Arabia seems to have had one door open at nearly all times until now, with both the Houthis and the IRGC keeping both doors closed.
The forward-looking signals are also clearly deteriorating. 10+ empty VLCCs turning away from Fujairah (Bloomberg, Oct 12), six ships hit on Oct 11 alone, mines in the Omani corridor, and OPEC+ ministers on Oct 12 saying shipping and insurance costs now exceed one-third of commodity value.
At first I thought this was a parody. Denigrating the countries of our hemisphere as only worthy of visits by mere assistant secretaries. Presumably the Secretary should be in Paris, Brussels and Berlin talking about the rules based international order? The below is everything that has been wrong with the U.S. foreign policy establishment since the end of the Cold War.
Secretaries of State travel the world, to our biggest allies and to address the most pressing issues. But Marco Rubio does neither. His solo travels take him where assistant secretaries go. Rarely the boss. open.substack.com/pub/ivodaalder…
Wow! Delta Airline's 10-Q filing: The 200k/bd Monroe refinery saw an operating loss of $33-million in the quarter, compared to a gain of $53-million in 3Q2025. Reduced capacity thanks to a June incident. Also on balance sheet: Hedging losses of $416-million for fuel. Yikes!
@AlexGrayForOK is the main character in this one. A lot of what he pushed for in 2025 shows up in the Greenland agreement. With him now advising ETM, I’m especially interested in what he’s working on next.
@annmarie Yep lookin pretty peaceful out there: “A deck cargo ship has reportedly been attacked by Houthi forces in the Bab al-Mandeb Strait, killing three of its crew members, according to Yemeni government military sources.”
Haven't seen this too many times this year. Nov-Jan are gaining slightly more dollars than the front. The market seems to be suggesting the supply problem will persist for months.
Front: $85.82, +$2.27
Oct: $85.83, +$2.28
Nov: $84.10, +$2.45
Dec: $82.42, +$2.43
Jan: $81.07, +$2.39
For anyone curious about Mohsen Rezaei's (Mojtaba's latest appointee for the Supreme National Security Council) perspective on things, here's a concise overview of what he's said since January 2026.
As a side note, Rezaei was the IRGC’s senior wartime commander and one of Iran’s principal operational leaders during the Iran-Iraq war. He played a significant role in the successful 1981-1982 counteroffensives.
His current set of views:
Early 2026 — nuclear red lines and oil threats. He opened the year refusing to negotiate over missiles or enrichment (Feb 5), declared no American ship allowed in the Persian Gulf (Mar 1), and warned oil could hit $150 (Mar 9). By late April he was taunting that no country can block Iran's oil exports (Apr 27).
May 2026 — the Hormuz confrontation hardens. He rejected a US plan to reopen Hormuz as "unrealistic," demanding war reparations first (May 7), said Iran would patrol the strait to prevent a security vacuum (May 24), and issued his first clear offensive threat — if the naval blockade continued, "we will be the ones who will attack" (May 29).
June 2026 — negotiations and frozen assets. This is where the $24 billion demand emerges: he told CNN talks were deadlocked and Trump must unfreeze Iranian assets, "the ball is in Trump's court" (Jun 5), later claiming Trump had privately agreed to a partial unfreezing (Jun 13). He also threatened to drag the war into the Indian Ocean, Red Sea, Bab al-Mandab and Mediterranean (Jun 5), made a striking territorial threat against the UAE and Kuwait (Jun 4), and accused the US of violating the war-ending memorandum (Jun 27).
July 2026 — back toward war. He declared it "quite clear" the US would sink the talks (Jul 7), warned "Trump plans another attack, we are fully ready" (Jul 8), and threatened a shift from defensive to "full-scale offensive" war with "waves of Iranian missiles and drones" (Jul 17).
August 2026 — the current flashpoint. He's flatly rejecting any US- or Oman-brokered "second corridor" through Hormuz, vowing to target any warship — even an aircraft carrier — that enters the "illegal route" (Aug 3–4). He also revealed Iran had been ready to strike three points in Ukraine over an attack on an Iranian vessel, but stood down after Kyiv apologized (Aug 3). And just today (Aug 9), he called Hormuz "a more powerful deterrent for Iran than dozens of atomic bombs" and threatened to turn the Sea of Oman into a "graveyard" for US forces if the blockade isn't lifted.
The IRGC is not merely an obstacle negotiators must work around. It has a direct financial and institutional interest in preventing normalization.
@anasalhajji argued on MacroVoices 541 that its attacks were intended to derail negotiations and preserve the control, money, and prestige it gained under sanctions. Oil Twitter has largely ignored this.
WSJ:
Mediators said the main negotiators, Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and Parliamentary Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, quickly embraced a plan presented this weekend to divide traffic through the Hormuz into an inbound lane near Iran and an outbound lane near Oman. They
