I'm not a lesbian, but I'm not straight either, and even though I'm not quite ready to admit that to my mom and other family right now, it felt like I took a small step toward eventually coming out to more people.
My mom was telling me yesterday she's been tempted to tell my homophobic, bigoted grandmother I'm a lesbian just to shut her up. I've been tempted to do this as well with my grandma and other people, so I gave mom full permission to say it in response to people's anti-gay bs.
Regardless of how each of us identifies, we are all human. We all deserve unconditional love and acceptance. RT to show your support of the #LGBTQ+ community.
