This year, millions of people who never wrote code before have begun building their own apps. In the coming years, millions more will!
I believe the majority of new apps will be web apps. Native is great, but there's way too much friction for casual developers.
For this reason, I am ultra bullish on browsers. The web will be the distribution platform of a billion empowered casuals 🤓
stop selling to indiehackers
build software for companies already making money
a successful startup/company is not interested in vibe coding everything; they want stuff to work
they don't mind paying saas prices for things that add value
indiehackers will spend days replacing software to save $50/m (and that is totally fine)
yes a lot of internal tooling will be vibe coded, but there is so much opportunity right now to build software that just works and within an agent stack
i am a really big fan of building things in house (especially with ai now) but we are growing fast and we have no time to waste; we are not trying to save a few hundred $ a month
everything is moving faster, growing startups don't want to waste any time
@samwhoo Someone who gives a lot of shits and won't sleep if the thing they're using feels like crap. They just keep refining because they give a lot of shits.
@ashleybchae Very few people are willing to invest the effort needed to deeply understand the core business needs behind so many opportunities. That’s why, despite all the amazing AI, they won’t get there because what has always been scarce are the skills that drive striving and success.
@ashleybchae It never was about the code. To build a product and be successful you always needed much more than this : discipline, rigor, ambition, determination, intelligence. You can give the tool for free to many people that won't do shit even if there's the potential to gain millions
@ashleybchae People such as you or @GeoffreyHuntley are so ahead of the crowd and certainly surrounded by people of you level that you hugely overestimate the crowd. What I observe is that so many people aren't willing and therefore don't even see the possibilities this new paradigm offers
