I gotta say, stuff like this, is so motivating as a founder. This is a follow up reply I received on a Reddit post I made 27 days ago, pitching the idea of AI Jobs Australia. What started as a problem I wanted to solve, is now turning into a product others are curious about.
In the first month of AI Jobs Australia we hit 43 waitlist signups. I was aiming for 50. Lesson here is, the exact number matters less than the signal. People signed up before the product is live. Now itās about launch + engagement, not vanity goals.
Introducing the Job Seeker Dashboard on AI Jobs Australia. Core features so far: - Profile for skills & experience - Application tracking - Save your roles to revisit later - Upload up to 5 resumes/cover letters A solid starting point to make job searching easier to manage.
My bounce rate is 85% after 3 weeks of AI Jobs Australia. That sounds bad, but hereās why Iām not worried: - Itās just a single landing page - The headline filters the right people - The real signal is daily waitlist signups High bounce ā failure. Signups are what matters.
Do early impressions matter? š Googleās crawled just 4 pages of AJA. Clicks = 0 (expected). Impressions = 214. But its proof Google can see us, weāre ranking (avg. pos 43.9), and thereās demand. Lesson: Impressions first, clicks later.
While building AJAās MVP, I forced myself to answer this: - Does this feature help users find jobs faster? - Does this feature help employers hire better? - Does this feature drive business value? If the answer was ānoā to all 3, I cut it. Good framework for features
Launched with nothing more than a landing page and some late nights answering Reddit comments. Turns out that was enough to get the first 20+ signups!

Hereās some early traffic stats for @aijobsaustralia. Really pleased to see the majority coming from the right target audience location, exactly what I was hoping for. Good lesson that it pays to start with a clear niche.

Iāve noticed a surge in AI/ML roles in Australia, but the job market feels a bit scattered. I started AI Jobs Australia to track which skills/industries are hiring. I'm curious though, do you think demand is shifting more toward applied ML or research roles?

You probably need 3-6 months of dedicated time learning to code to build anything challenging with vibe coding. For basic things, vibe coding is just fine.
