Police compete in racist game—to see who can arrest more Black people. Encouraged each other to use excessive force. Even to fire their guns in direction of Black residents. Call them N-words in writing to the group chat. Investigation began over illegal use of Flock cameras by one officer to help a friend sell psilocybin mushrooms and marijuana. Search warrant for his phone looking for Flock camera data—later uncovered the separate racist text thread among officers. 6 officers have been suspended without pay pending Civil Service Board hearings. Incident involved officers from at least 3 separate divisions of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department in North Carolina. Using arrest and incarceration statics means nothing and if anything only proves my point. Black men being the most incarcerated group of men "per capita" doesn't necessarily mean they commit the most violent crimes when we see white men getting away with being violent towards women & girls ALL THE TIME. Prior to this horrific crime Tanner Horner raped a teenage girl but wasn't even prosecuted for it. And the only reason he's now in jail is bc he didn't just rape little Athena but he also killed her. How many other countless white male rapist & pedophiles are there out there who will never see justice??

There is something deeply dishonest about telling Black Americans that FBA delineation is “divisive” while people freely distinguish themselves from us whenever the comparison makes them look better. Da’Vinchi said his Haitian household made him different from the Americans he criticized. Fine. Then our Black American lineage makes us different too. You cannot use Haitian identity to explain your supposed cultural advantages and then expect Black Americans to disappear into generic “Blackness” when we talk about our history. And if Haiti is so central to your identity, I have another question: where are the Haitian roles, Haitian historical projects, and Haitian cultural investments? Why is Black American culture good enough to help build the career, but Black Americans get the lecture? I went all the way there in this article, including slavery, indentured servitude, the 13th Amendment, convict leasing, prison labor, FBA delineation, and why Black Americans need to stop financing people who disrespect us. At some point we have to stand on business. If they cannot respect Black Americans, they do not need Black American support.
