@alex_kirshner She had a Nike deal already the deal was just timed so it would end now after the college season. I think he is unfortunately probably right that they would have done this either way but she still didn't lose anything turning pro.
yeah the funnier thing is his addition/subtraction. but to your point (and this is working off only a limited history of the shoe endorsement market under NIL), turning pro is thought to be very positive for the value of endorsement deals. (think this is part of why caleb didn't sign one at USC)
@alex_kirshner @ADSohn Open market for a pro. Apparel/shoe deals in college are limited by the school’s contract with those companies. Would Under Armor or Adidas compete with Nike at the level they did knowing she’d have to wear Nikes on television at Iowa
