"You don't want them here because they're different and have different cultures!" Yes, precisely. That's actually most of it, at least in terms of legal immigration. Assimilation for the most part is a fairy tale, its simply not real. When legal immigrants from non Western nations come here, it's not to embrace Western values. We are an economic opportunity, nothing more. They want to continue living life exactly the same, just with more money. They will not bend to our practices and values, they will expect us to bend. They will swarm in, do so in record numbers then change things to fit their ideals. I don't care if they don't commit crime, I don't care if they're peaceful and I especially don't care about their contributions to the economy. A cohesive society is a successful society, is a happy society. Every single immigrant from parts of the world that represent the antithesis of the West, tear apart our country, thread by thread. It changes what America is. It uproots our culture and destroys it. I don't care about the GDP if I have to drive by giant monkey diety statues. I don't care about the AI race if I can't even tell I'm in America anymore. These people don't love America, they love the economic opportunities they simply could not develop in their home countries. The American dream is for Americans. Build your own.
If you allow in very few foreigners, VERY few, they will be pressured by their communities to assimilate to our culture and customs. If you import entire communities of foreigners, there is zero pressure to assimilate to our culture and customs.
If it wasn’t clear before, it should be very clear now — We have an illegal AND legal immigration problem.
Immigration isn’t “good” just because it’s legal.
Immigration is my number one issue. So many problems are downstream from it. Without reversing the disaster that has been mass Immigration, absolutely nothing we do matters. If you're not willing to go all in, then I won't support you. I don't care how much money we have to throw at it. If my house is on fire, I'm not going to worry about how much my water bill is going to be from filling up buckets. If you don't support heavily funding ICE and border security, you are an enemy to America.
If a politician ever wants my vote again, they'll have to support this.

Assimilate literally means to blend in. When you’re asserting your cultural with foreign holiday proclamations, wearing headscarves, etc. you’re just telling us what we already knew. Whether assimilation is even possible is actually irrelevant — it was always a lie.
