@annelongfield Universal investment is the ONLY thing that will prevent these figures. If investment was better placed universal work would be effective, on going referrals would follow a graduated approach and children reaching crisis point and needing reactive services would reduce.

@KindredSquared @Alison_Morton2 @iHealthVisiting (restoring health visiting) "needs to focus on three areas: sufficient funding; action to rebuild the health visiting workforce; and levers to ensure all families receive high-quality health visiting support, ending the current postcode lottery." I'd add: ringfence and mandate.
@annelongfield I attended ‘The crisis in Youth Mental Health, adapting to a changing world’ conference last week. One of the take home messages was that often ‘simple approaches are more effective’ and I totally agree. YP often don’t need or engage with CAMHS services, they just want support !
@annelongfield Universal investment is the ONLY thing that will prevent these figures. If investment was better placed universal work would be effective, on going referrals would follow a graduated approach and children reaching crisis point and needing reactive services would reduce.

Yesterday, I had the pleasure of meeting health visitors, school nurses and other #teamCNO colleagues from @WhitHealth's Haringey Universal Children’s Service. Thank you for all you do to support the health and wellbeing of children, young people and families in Haringey.
It was great to join the @HNYPartnership CYP stakeholder event today in Hull and hear discussions about what collaboration with CYP really means & how we as professionals can facilitate in getting it right for young people and their families.
