For every 50% increase in the company’s value over a set baseline, we can contribute up to an extra 2%, subject to our board’s discretion. In total, this means that roughly 20% of Anthropic’s shares are committed to the public good. Our co-founders have already pledged to donate 80% of their equity, and around half our employees are donating a portion of their equity as part of a donation matching program we’ve run since our founding. Brad Gerstner predicts an Anthropic IPO could draw more than $500 billion in demand and says whether it prices at $1.5 trillion or $2 trillion is irrelevant “I suspect if they choose to come public, there’s going to be tremendous demand based on everything I know about the company. “In the SpaceX IPO, I think it was a $100 billion offering. You had, I think, about $350 billion of demand for that offering, and the stock has done incredibly well coming out of that. “I suspect here you would have over $500 billion in demand for this offering. “Where it prices, I don’t really care. Is it at $1.5 trillion? Is it at $1.75 trillion? Is it at $2 trillion? Those things are irrelevant if you’re going to own the stock over the next year or two.”
