Invert the prestige Before taking someone's advice, strip away everything other than the outcomes they have achieved before. Especially focus on titles. If they weren't Harvard/McKinsey/Amazon, would you still believe them? If yes, proceed. If no, you're buying a narrative.

Kintsugi is the Japanese art form of repairing broken ceramics with gold. It involves embracing flaws in the process, in the destruction of past forms, so that further beauty can emerge. Broken ceramics become a map of the past, a canvas of the new. There's a metaphor there.
