Explaining Arsenal's Python Squeeze. It's a really simple concept. When playing Arsenal two things happen —You don't get much, if anything, in transitions. You get pegged inside your own box. Or all your transitions get turned into a slow, low-block attack. —You don't get much, if anything, in possession. It's like scratching on a brick wall. Cross and insha'Allah doesn't work. Long ball and insha'Allah doesn't work, either. You can't physically bully them. You can't scam a setpiece. In other words, the margins of what it takes to score against Arsenal are extremely low all-round. Even if you get a goal, you won't be getting another. Now, Arsenal also happen to be one of the most technically talented sides in the world, with a top level understanding of space and time manipulation all round. While they don't possess a clinical superstar, they have all the necessary profiles to break down a low block. In Saka and Havertz, they have a Magician type winger who can come up with any solution and a box dominator CF who is generally unstoppable at what he does best. In combination with some of the best pressing philosophies and execution around, incredible setpiece firepower and genuine belief and aggression, Arsenal maximize everything technically and tactically possible in possession. The window for error against Arsenal in and out of possession is so small that it starts to feel like resisting a python squeeze. They take everything you give and deny everything you try, all at the highest level. They maximize their own luck and minimize yours. Whether you have the ball or not, it starts to feel like a death sentence. Nothing you do seems to matter. It's all just pointless. What is the purpose of playing if they are there all the time? Playing against Arsenal is an existential crisis. You start to question your philosophy and identity. Does it really work? And if you show the slightest hint of discouragement, you are down by two goals in 15 minutes and the quicksand quickly becomes a bottomless pit that swallows all light and all possibilities. You will not find a foothold. There's no macho inspiration possible once you have a disadvantage against this team. Just a relentless slide to the bottom. Arsenal's python squeeze is still not complete yet. They can struggle to make opportunities count. Transitions are not yet polished to a shiny chrome like with everything else (they just got Raheem Sterling, though, so watch out). And if you don't go down by a goal, you can possibly resist for as long as possible and give them the initiative of trying to find a win. Maybe then, just then, if you have enough transition power, you can get something for yourself. Otherwise, it's a dry fast.

I agree with this ecologist Allan Savory in this video. He says we are going to die because of the modern stupidity of science. "Show us the source." "Any research to prove it?" "Any journal?" Braindead academia. #BetterTogether
