Imagine earning 30 Million in a Single Year. Only from your laptop. That’s what Sam Ovens did. What’s crazy… is he taught HOW he did it to all of your favorite gurus Iman Gadzhi, Alex Becker… The real question is. What did he teach specifically…. to these guys that allowed them to earn a filthy amount of money online? He taught them how to leverage their time, attention, and energy to make the most money possible. Fair to say that this gave them an unfair advantage.. they have fairly decent results today. ______ Here’s the exact strategy he gave them and how to implement it yourself to get an unfair advantage in business: 1) Design your Environment to Guide Your Behavior and remove Distractions. Changing your environment is much better than relying on willpower alone to change your behavior. You still need to train your willpower and work on it, but it’s much easier to remove bad triggers (distractions) and make the good behaviors (ie. focusing on your business) easier. It’s like snakes and ladders, get rid of the snakes (negative triggers) and put the ladders (positive triggers in the right spot). How to Design your Environment to make focus work easier: Physical: - Comfortable Desk & Chair - 1 Big Screen - Natural Light - Plants - (Snake Plant is good) - Phone Switched off and put away. - Get rid of junk food, alcohol, and TVs. Digital: - Use Content Filters to remove distractions. - Unhook YouTube to Remove Recommendations - News Feed Eradicator for Facebook. - Momentum to remove Chrome’s recently visited websites. - Delete Social Media from your phone - Don’t watch other people’s content Upgrade your Electronic Set Up: Quality Mic, Headphones, and Fast Internet this will save hours in the long run because of speed and quality improvements. 🎯 Analyze when you end up wasting time and ask yourself "How the f*ck did I end up here" go backwards and find the root cause and remove that trigger. ___ 2) Daily Routine You need a daily routine or a plan for the day. “People would get 10x the efficiency with a routine vs without a routine”. A daily routine will ingrain in you the behaviors that will build your business. Your behavior is automatic, it just happens. With Sam Oven's Routine: - He’s managed to fit in 12 1/2 Hours of Work. - Get 7 Hours of Sleep. - Hit The Gym. - Meditate - Eat Healthy Allowing him to be a productive machine. “A daily routine is the basics to self-discipline. If you cant stick to this.. then you’re not going to be able to stick to shit. Cause if you don’t have the discipline to go to bed and wake up how are you going to have the discipline to do other things." - Sam Ovens ____ How to Build Your Own Daily Routine: A) Plot out what time you go to bed and the time you wake up Make sure the time you go to sleep and wake up is at least 8 hours-9 hours. If you choose to sleep at 10 expect to wake up at around 5:30 -6 AM. Just getting 4 hours of sleep might look good on the calendar but it doesn’t work in reality. Get an Oura Ring. It’ll measure your sleep and see how good your sleep is. B) Evening Routine - Plan the next day the Night Before The action items you focus on every day need to always be the best option that’s most likely to grow your business. You have to be very disciplined with your prioritization. You do that by looking at your War Map (Calendar) and then cross-referencing that to your vision and goals Sam Ovens knows what to prioritize first because he breakdown what he wants to achieve starting from: → A Clear Vision → A Annual Goal → Quarterly Goals → Initiative KPIs → Actions & Tasks on the Calendar (War Map) This allows him to always leverage his time, attention, and energy on what’ll generate the most money. He then plans the next day based on his priorities the night before. In the morning he doesn’t need to think about what to do, he just does it. Image of War Map What Sam Ovens Uses (me and my clients use the same thing but on notion) C) Maintain a strict shutdown routine. a. Shut off all overhead lights 2 hours before bedtime and use warm-colored light bulbs (orange/red) this helps reduce b. End mentally taxing work 90 minutes before sleep to allow your mind to destress. If you sleep at 10. You stop work at 8:30 PM. It’s not worth working later into the night 4-5 AM and screwing your chemicals up when you can just go to sleep and finish it in the morning. When you mess up your chemicals it's very hard to go against those things. Going to bed at the same time and waking up at the same time gets your body in sync. D) Morning Routine. Your morning routine purpose is to wake you up and make you feel alert when you sit on your computer. “If I just got up and started working on my computer I wouldn’t be very alert." - Sam Ovens Sam Ovens hits the gym right away, Showers has a smoothie, Meditations for 20 minutes, and then Starts Work. How to build your Own Morning Routine: - Phone on Airplane Mode. No Social Media. No E-mails. - Exercise or Walk. -Breakfast to align your circadian rhythm. (You can intermittent fast if you want but having breakfast is better for sleep quality) - Some sort of visualization/prayer/meditation/mindset to align your mind to work. - Review your Day and Start Work. _____ How Sam Ovens Meditates: a. Set a Timer for 10- 20 minutes, no music, and think about nothing. b. Deep breaths and focus on your breath. c. Ping away thoughts that come and bring your attention back to your breath. Benefit: You’ll get better at pinging away mental distractions during deep work. The worst thing is to just follow your impulses (open up email, order something, check notifications) and not catch them. _____ E) Time Block Deep Work How many tasks should you have to work on in a day? Sam Ovens usually works on 1 Big Project multiple days in a row or for months. Your Deep Work sessions need to be spent on a project that has a high chance of increasing: - Revenue/profit - Getting new Clients - Improving your Service/Product The goal is to go deep and build something that will generate money. Sam Ovens uses Rice Project Scoring Tool to make sure he's working on what'll generate the highest impact. Benefits of Daily Routine: - Everyone on his team knows his routine when he’s available and knows when to message him. This minimizes distractions and allows him to focus. - No need to think about what to do. - Maximize focus on the activities that generate the most money → He made 30M in 1 year doing this. _____ 3) Attention Management a) Your brain will want to do whatever it does the most. The more you do X behavior the more your brain will want to do it. If you start the day by checking social media you’re training your brain to do that. If you start the day with a Morning Routine and Going to Work your brain will want to do that. You want to repeat good actions so you can purposefully brainwash your brain to want to do those. b) Stop trying to multi-task and split your focus. Train yourself to do one thing only: Focus on one task at a time and don’t switch contexts. Don’t Eat and watch Content or Work at the same time. Finish the food complete it then get back to work. c) Make it a habit to complete things and then move next. If you don’t complete things your mind will still think about the previous task rather than going in 100% into the task right now. d) Attention Management is Pain Management High-Intensity training and working out train your mind to keep going even with the pain. Meditation also trains your mind to ignore impulses and thoughts and keep moving forward. An unfair advantage is being ok with pain and to keep going. e) Get a DAMN Chef or Outsource Food Food is the biggest time waster. You have to buy the groceries, put them in the fridge, prepare them, eat them, and then you have dishes, and it happens up to 3 times a day. Outsource it so you can regain hours of your time & attention back. f) Social Media brainwashes you Reduce Exposure to take control of what goes into your brain. The more exposed you are to it the more your brain will build an attachment to it. g) Always do the high-impact stuff first. Ask yourself: Is this a value action? Does it bring more value to my business? Is this the best option right now that’ll get to my goals. If one thing is definetly more likely to grow the business then another. Work on that instead. You have to be very disciplined with your prioritization. ___ “I always find it funny that people think ... "I can’t wait for those pixel retargeting audiences, that look-a-like, those multivariable tests, "and… we always end up to time management, and wake up at the right time, go to bed at the right time, don’t do stupid stuff.” “It’s really really the best place to make more money. You have to think about how money is created and how business growth is created. It’s created by focus attention over time. Being channeled into the right thing. In order to do that you have to have the energy and the focus and not the distractions. You create money by doing this.” Sam Ovens _______ Super long post.
