Headliner at Chalk, Brighton is LA-based American indie singer-songwriter Blondshell - who has been around in some shape or form since 2017 - but in Blondshell mode since 2022. Think Breeders think Hole. I might be the oldest person here, but I don't care.

First up at Chalk, Brighton are Westside Cowboy. Last saw them in May at a packed BBC Introducing gig. Since then they've played a lot of festivals and released their aptly titled "This Better Be Something Great" EP. I was expecting great things and they delivered in spades.

From Punk to Primark. Not sure what I think of this. The Slits version of Marvin Gaye's "Heard it Through the Grapevine" used for the latest Primark campaign. I've always loved the Slits version, its one of my favourite records. What would Ari say?
