This is weird: $VIX up, while stocks up. In the past 7 days: $VIX went up 1.4 S&P 500 went up 1.6% to an all-time high This almost always led to a pullback for stocks over the next 3 weeks

Is the VIX is pulling a Sept 2, 2020 move? $SPY was up $5 that day after a huge move higher in July & Aug of 2020. Then during the last 3 trading days in Aug the VIX started rising along with $SPY. On Sept 2, the VIX went up again with $SPY. An 8% correction hit on 9/3 - 9/8. 🤔

Trading history. The biggest move of the dot com bubble for $SPY was in 1995, 37.5% followed by 1997 @ 33.3%. Yet in the last 6 weeks before the March 24, 2000 top it rose 14% yet closed down 9% by Dec 31. A 14% move today is $750. Elliot wave ain’t going to tell you a thing.🍀

Full disclosure. Yes I bought Oct 17 $664 puts last week. They are red (I haven’t added). But I’m also not calling a top with some fib level, wave count or trend line. You can’t predict a top aside from a guess. Folks who keep calling tops every week are just throwing darts. 💯
