You can be kind and still be sharp. You can be open and still hold the line. Being “good” doesn’t mean being a smiley, unthreatening bunny.
Some failures aren’t about the product. They happen because you didn’t speak up, didn’t push back, didn’t act. You thought being nice would solve it. Sometimes, being tough is the only move.
Startups teach you this fast: Kindness matters. But clarity wins. There are moments where being soft just delays the pain. The hard call, the sharp feedback, that’s what builds momentum.
You learn that being “nice” isn’t always the answer. Sometimes the most necessary thing is to be direct, even tough. It’s not easy. But it’s how things move forward.
The people I admire most don’t just have good idea, they act on them fast, without waiting for permission or perfection.
Great ideas are easy. The real edge is acting on them before doubt catches up
