50% of the CTOs I spoke to, regretted adopting Infrastructure-as-Code early. The other 50%? Said it was their absolute best decision. Why? The happy CTOs went all in. The regretting CTOs used it only partially. Partial IaC is a liability. Full IaC is leverage.

Founders who don't set up on-call alerts early always regret it later. Delete the "alerts" Slack channel you always ignore. Create alerts that ring your phone if there's a real issue. Your responsiveness is key to both customer satisfaction AND high production availability.

Fast development requires fast testing. Fast testing requires testing environments. But tests don't help if production is different from the testing environments. The secret? Deploy testing environments the same way you deploy production. #devops #deployment

Debugging production issues is much like detective work. You see the symptoms, follow the clues suspiciously, and look for the root cause. The best DevOps Engineers I've seen are attentive and curious people - seeing clues and trying to make sense of it all.
