Coach, help your players who are receiving NIL offers to choose wisely. Securing an investment/tax professional who's not associated with one of the "agents" who are showing up and saying all the right things would serve him well. Your mentoring didn't end with the last game.

58 football seasons - player for 8, coach for 35, color analyst for 15. I've heard it and said it many times, "Football is the ultimate team sport." I fear that it is fast becoming a "Look at me!" sport. We can't afford to lose track of what made it great over its long history.

Sadness, but with prayers of hope and recovery for the many who've lost their homes in the L.A. area fires. Personal memories have turned to ash as I recall the world of my youth in Pasadena/Altadena - in places that no longer exist. Godspeed.

Seems like a lot of assistant coaches being fired nowadays - "I have never fired a coach. Barring some unusual off-field incident . . . if a coach is not doing his job, the bottom line is, I brought him in, he's my responsibility, I've got to make him better." Chuck Knox.
