@EnglishOER Absolutely. I get the resistance. We’ve had 20 years of Ed tech promising Prometheus and getting Icarus. However, this breaks a LOT of the implied and explicit infrastructure of academic work and learning. And it has arrived all at once.
It's unreal how many tasks I can blast through when I don't have grading or course prep to deal with.
When I get asked to speak on AI in higher ed, the organizers often want me to move beyond academic integrity, which they seem to see as an older, negative topic. They want me to focus on ways to teach with and about AI, but the questions still center on academic integrity.
Tempted to call any AI output masquerading as human-created a "Turing trick," but Turing wasn't advocating anything of the kind. It would be nice to have a way to call it out when humans present AI output as their own, though.

@RobertTalbert This was my experience as well. Once my assessment was in sync with my values I found that students had to do more and better work to satisfy the criteria, not less, and many/most stepped up to the plate.
