I appreciate your candor. I’ve given this thought as well. I haven’t reached a definitive conclusion either. However, I have concluded it’s not great to blindly and disproportionately reward the “face of the team”.

for the record (i know this was controversial, and i'm not even 100% sure i buy it myself) -- i feel the same about managers, directors, and VPs. and CTOs! i am just not convinced you should make substantially more money as you 'climb the ladder'. i think it's a bad pattern.

We can have a more nuanced conversation here. Sure private healthcare has its warts. But there are incentives for organizations to help their customers (aka patients) better. 90-day readmissions, for example, are costly for hospitals and stressful for their staff.

Good point. But tracking groups may be possible. 1) ID cohorts by connected individuals. 2) Collect data each cohort by replacing individual IDs with a cohort ID, then evaluate the cohort. Connected individuals may be a proxy for attitude of the group.
