Normally I'm not a fan of the "nudes in profile" auto-bot responses on here. But I just saw a post from someone being pretty vile about people with mental health, and the only response was 'nudes in profile' and I just thought, yep I can't add much to that.
I'll be in my office tomorrow and I have no doubt she will call in a total panic at what @DWPgovuk is saying. It will make her sick, set her back, when for years we have been building her confidence, helping her look for training, planning a possible future.
The state made her anxiety worse making her wait from age 13 til 19 to get to court, it houses her in unregulated shared accommodation with men and now tells her this is the normal pressures of life. Child abuse, state retraumatising and endangering her.
I've helped a young woman fill in her PIP paperwork recently. I had to bring her to my office as her anxiety was so acute she couldn't travel alone. She was sexually abused by her uncle in childhood. She waited 6 years to be inside a courtroom. Her anxiety was crippling.

Those who have chronic illness will have fatigue, pain, tachycardia, dizziness and so much more. Yet some days they will still act completely normal and pretend everything is normal and say they are“fine”. Meanwhile everything is not fine. So please be kind.
The thing about this whole “Man or Bear” question is how many men won’t listen to women’s comments, refuse to take them seriously, invalidate their thoughts, feelings and experiences, lecturing them instesd, demonstrating why so many women would rather be in a forest with a bear.
PIP is not the issue - the assessment process is. Demeaning & nasty for many. Some conditions are life long. People don’t need to be asked if an autism diagnosis is still relevant
PIP shouldn’t even be in the same conversation as sickness and work. PIP is personal independence payment. It has nothing to do with whether you are working or not working, off sick or not. It has nothing to do with work. It is like Rishi Sunak doesn’t even know this.

Ending PIP will literally kill thousands of disabled people. Thousands. More blood on the hands of Tories. Even if they don’t implement this, the very thought may send people into despair and suicide. Fuck the Tories. I hope they all experience the worst Karma can give them.
Absolutely drained after a day of interviews on PIP reform. It’s so bloody infuriating to have to keep explaining: this is NOT an unemployed benefit; it is NOT easy to claim; and disabled people are NOT living the life of Riley on this benefit. Far from it.
Some facts about #PIP 1. It is NOT an out-of-work benefit 2. The assessment & application process is hard. It is not "easy to claim" 3. Only 40-45% of claims are successful 4. Getting the correct reward is difficult. Challenging it can take months.
