#NowPlaying @noxrock 'Iron Knowledge' (2024, Snax) I bought this knowing it would slap, as the kids say, and slap it does. Hip-hop flavors garage rock (or the other way around) with more than a few Eddie Hazel-like guitar freak-outs. Bim is the hero we need!
2/2…and there are hints of Butthole Surfers. The guitar assault on “Butcher Shop / Blow” is 440 Volts. There’s some Soul hiding in plain sight, and some melodic textures that Nox sneaks in, similar to what he pulled off on N’ve Approach. Brilliant. Terrifying. Outrageous. Fun.
OBNOX “Iron Knowledge” is already proving to be Bim’s most cerebral & lyrical work…and that’s saying something because his albums are nothing if not challenging and interesting. This one is different and unusual…it has signature Nox Fuzz and humor…. 1/2
