To those who believe stability can be achieved by ousting an elected provincial government, concentrating power and discarding democratic freedoms, Pakistan’s history stands testimony to how disastrous that path has been for the country and the people.

For over two decades in different roles, I have seen Pakistan as a source of solidarity & solutions. But what has always stood out to me is the resilience of the Pakistani people & their determination to build a better future. My message is simple: The @UN stands with the people of Pakistan. And I thank the Pakistani people for standing up for the world.

Clarity is an act of self-respect. Know what you want and say it without apology.

Work on yourself. Other people's growth is their own responsibility.

When the vision is clear, the path becomes irrelevant. The Universe handles the path.

I renew my appeal for an end to the ongoing violence against the Palestinian civilian population in the West Bank, and I urgently call on the international community to work toward advancing the two-state solution, for a just and lasting peace.
