@PrognosticChats Agree. My team masks when they have face to face meetings with me but don’t mask otherwise. Have had to remind/request a couple to do so and they have obliged since. But find it staggering that they don’t seem to connect the dots on their frequent sick leave and reinfections.

“Mask if makes you comfortable” How about you mask as well? How about some basic respect & reciprocal care? I’m masking for your safety as much as mine. You know what. It isn’t good enough. Lone maskers everywhere deserve better.

These are the hidden, yet palpable ways people around you decide to let you know how much they care. I’d like to think if I had a colleague who took Covid seriously, that I’d maybe listen to what they had to say, or at the very least have the manners to mask during meetings.

They don’t care enough about themselves or their families, they don’t care about their immensely vulnerable patients, they don’t care about me, not enough to slip on a mask at work anymore. Too inconvenient. Yet they’ll all insist I go to the staff function. That they care about.

Somethings been bugging me. It’s one thing being the lone masker in a hospital, but it’s the hidden layer within my own team that stings most. We have team meetings all the time, they all know why I mask, yet none of them ever do. A constant reminder that they don’t care…

@DisabledDoctor This happened 2 me on my own wedding day. I'm a nurse & yet... I'd been gaslit so much by docs I had given up trying to figure it out. It was my young son getting dx MCAS, dysautonomia, HaTs, anyphylaxis that led to my dx @ 44. The vomit/pass out was atypical anaphylaxis 2/2 HaTs

@Oldboatie I would reply honestly to say "You can all go and have dinner together in a restaurant, but I would leave you at that point. I don't eat indoors in restaurants, and would have preferred to stay socialising outside for a while, walking,eating on the go, and seeing the lights."

@LazarusLong13 I just had a visit with the cardiologist for my Covid induced heart problems. He came into the exam room, bilateral conjunctivitis and a cough no mask. I was masked of course when I asked him why he wasn’t he just shrugged.😬

Terrible. The @CDCgov hicpac just formally voted on a recommendation against using N95 respirators for diseases spread in the air. Only one member supported N95 respirators for diseases spread in the air! The overall committee has made the most despicable decision today.
