Realistically , when your child’s behaviour becomes … “challenging “, it’s often more practical to look at the root causes and see what it is you can tweak in the environment . This is a far easier starting point than going straight to changing up what your child is doing .
@helen_of_roy Permissive parenting is not gentle parenting . Permissive parenting does not have boundaries - whereas gentle parenting won’t bend the rules over a tantrum!
Whenever I think my 9 year old should be better able to regulate himself , I look at my toddler and remember how far he has come . Then I look at the road rage incident I encountered on my drive home between two grown men and realize some people never make it past that point !
