I remember the earlier days. Whenever the market was under heavy pressure or there was a major selling event, the Finance Minister would speak and give some reassurance to investors. Today, SEBI seems more focused on regulating retail investors and introducing new rules, while concerns around promoter selling through IPOs, QIPs and FPOs continue. Add RBI policies, taxation, global tensions and other factors, and the pressure on the Indian market keeps building. Yet, we rarely hear any reassuring communication from the government. That’s what concerns me.
