Agree with @abhijit_MLab and @himdaughter about the possible exodus of NRIs from the US leading to a "windfall" for India. Let us make our own science and research ecosystem robust so that it is good for the RIs and the country. NRIs will come and go, their choice!

Gave a talk at St Xavier's College, Zoology department: great fun interacting with the students. The highlight was the nostalgia that came from visiting my alma mater, the Life Sciences department. Here I am with current faculty in the lab where I did practicals 40 years ago!

Received many emails from past students on Teacher's Day. The most gratifying comments were that my courses and interactions taught them how to think. That has always been a big one in my course objectives because information is at our fingertips so education has to go beyond.
