I "made" a thing. During the holidays I learned about ray tracing from @Peter_shirley's Ray Tracing in One Weekend and wrote it in @rustlang instead of C++. The experience has been amazing! Check it out here: github.com/viktorku/wort

Hinton’s “favorite Gary Marcus quote” argues that pure #deeplearning fails to understand language. I stand it by it: no current #AI system can understand a stories, articles, etc. If you disagree w the quote, I’d like to hear your thoughts why.

I am really enjoying Deep Learning with Python by @fchollet. I especially love that the risks and unintended side effects of DL are highlighted. I recommend this book to everyone who uses Keras or DL. I can't put this book down!

Cancellation of Momentum: A ball is fired at 50 mph, out of a cannon from a truck that is going at 50 mph. The two momenta cancel each other and in the Earth reference frame the ball has 0 momentum.
