Got hacked yesterday. The link came from inside Claude chat. I was installing a transcription app. Claude sent the download link, and I pasted the command into the terminal. It all looked legit. It wasn't though. It was a copycat site bundling malware. It ran instantly, tried to take everything from me. Nothing sensitive got out. So I wiped the laptop and rebuilt clean. But here's the scary part. Restoring from the backup, I found a poisoned SKILL.md for Claude Code. It looked exactly like my own writing style guide. But buried inside: it had instructions to silently re-download the malware and steal my credentials every time the AI loaded it. If I'd restored that one file, my new clean laptop is owned on day one. What saved me: I read every skill, hook, and config file before letting the AI touch them. Two lessons here: AI assistants will hand you links they never verified. Check before you paste. And AI agent files are executable code now, disguised as notes. You have to read them. Stay safe out there.

Apple just sued OpenAI, and the wildest part is how they got caught: one candidate screenshotted confidential Apple files on his Apple work laptop hours before his OpenAI interview. Apple reads its own server logs. The recruiting pipeline generated its own evidence trail. The complaint says OpenAI's hardware chief Tang Tan, a 24-year Apple veteran, directed candidates still employed at Apple to bring "actual parts" (batteries, logic boards) to interviews for show and tell sessions. One candidate was surprised, saying he didn't even know you could take those out of the office. Apple also alleges Tan circulated an internal Apple offboarding document to coach new hires on dodging exit security checks, and that a departing engineer kept his Apple laptop, found a bug that still gave him access to Apple's cloud storage, and downloaded dozens of confidential hardware files after joining OpenAI. Then the supplier: OpenAI allegedly got one of Apple's manufacturing partners to demonstrate a proprietary metal finishing technique by letting the partner believe Apple had approved it. Over 400 former Apple employees now work at OpenAI. Apple says it flagged all of this to OpenAI in February and never got a response. Five months later, it filed. The ask reveals the strategy. Apple wants an injunction barring OpenAI from using the secrets, the return of every file, and full discovery into io, right as OpenAI preps its first device launch and an IPO. If a judge grants it, OpenAI may have to prove the device was built clean, component by component, before it ships. The device was supposed to run on the world's best hardware talent. Now its bill of materials is evidence.

One thing I learned is that you can replay reasoning across accounts. So with a poorly sanitized chat interface, an attacker might inject their own reasoning blobs into the interface for a chat agent, and the model may see them as its own authenticated internal thoughts.

NEW: 50 empty Waymos invade Atlanta neighborhoods and circle their cul-de-sacs for hours early in the mornings. Residents say they are getting waymo traffic than usual and have tried combating the cars with a neon green sign, which only made the problem worse. The Waymos didn't know what to do and clogged the entire street. I made a 4D god's eye replay of the Iran strikes using public OSINT data. When I turned on the orbital layer in worldview something jumped out. You can see satellite passes stack up over the strike zones in the hours before & after impact. Everyone was watching. Some of them were overhead before it started. American KH-11s and TOPAZ SAR. Russian BARS-M and Persona. Chinese Gaofen optical and SAR. Maxar WorldView Legion. Airbus Pleiades. Capella. ICEYE. That's textbook behavior -- you collect right before for targeting, you strike, then you collect again for battle damage assessment. Just wild to see it all replayed in 3D like this. The commercial constellation density is also striking. What used to be exclusive nation state capability is now mirrored by half a dozen commercial operators. The intelligence monopoly is over.

Also, don't you *want* him to be focused on Tesla, instead of politics? I know I do.
